KARACHI (MNN); The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Karachi has intensified its action against Bahria Town by freezing several major properties and thousands of acres of land linked to alleged illegal land acquisition and fraud.
According to reports, NAB has frozen a luxurious private residence allegedly built for Malik Riaz Hussain in Bahria Hills, Bahria Town Karachi. The property, known as āAli Villa,ā is registered in the name of his son Ali Riaz Malik and spreads over 67 acres. The estate reportedly includes modern facilities such as a helipad, mini zoo, and swimming pools.
In two separate inquiries, NAB also froze 1,338 acres of land allegedly occupied illegally by Bahria Town Karachi. The land was reportedly intended for projects including Bahria Greens and various precincts, including 33, 34, 38 to 40, 42, and 61. Authorities claim the land belongs to the Government of Sindh.
Additionally, NAB has frozen the entire 3,150 acres of Bahria Town 2, alleging that the land was fraudulently purchased by M/s Paradise Real Estate (Pvt) Limited. The order was issued separately by the Director General of NAB Karachi.
Reports further state that Bahria Town 2 was allegedly constructed on forest department land.
The freezing orders direct relevant authorities to prevent Bahria Town Karachi from transferring rights of the properties to any third party.
NAB has already filed Reference No. 1/2025 in the accountability court in Karachi regarding the alleged illegal transfer and misuse of 17,672 acres of government land in Malir district, reportedly worth Rs708 billion. Investigators allege that the land was unlawfully acquired in collusion with certain officials of the Sindh government and later used for the construction of Bahria Town Karachi near the M-9 Motorway.
