DAKHA (MNN); The Bangladesh Cricket Board on Tuesday rejected media reports claiming that the International Cricket Council has set a final deadline to decide venues for Bangladeshâs matches in the upcoming T20 World Cup.
Uncertainty continues over where Bangladesh will play its tournament fixtures after the BCB declined to play matches in India, citing security concerns. The issue remains unresolved, and the board has dismissed claims that the ICC has imposed any specific timeline for a decision.
BCB Director Amzad Hossain clarified that the ICC has not communicated any fixed date or deadline regarding the finalisation of venues. He said Bangladesh has formally submitted a request for a change in match venues, which is currently under review.
According to Hossain, the ICC will take a final decision after holding consultations with all relevant stakeholders. He added that the BCB remains in regular contact with the global cricket body and is committed to resolving the matter in line with established rules and regulations.
The clarification follows reports in Indian media suggesting that the ICC had rejected Bangladeshâs request to shift its matches to Sri Lanka, a claim strongly denied by the BCB.
