Web Desk: As part of the Türkiye–Pakistan Cultural Week (October 28–31), held under the patronage of Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif to mark the 102nd anniversary of the Republic of Türkiye, a Letter of Intent was signed between the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) and the Directorate General of Archaeology, Department of Tourism, Archaeology & Museums, Government of Punjab.
The agreement aims to rehabilitate Javed Manzil — also known as the Allama Muhammad Iqbal Museum — in Lahore.
Javed Manzil, commissioned by Pakistan’s national poet and philosopher Allama Muhammad Iqbal, is the house where he spent his final years and passed away. It was later converted into a museum to honor his memory.
Under the agreement, TİKA will carry out the restoration work, which is expected to be completed by 2027 — the year marking the 150th birth anniversary of Allama Iqbal.
The project seeks to preserve and promote the cultural and intellectual heritage of Allama Iqbal, who holds a revered place in both Türkiye and Pakistan. It will also stand as a testament to the enduring friendship and shared values between the two brotherly nations.
