92 Terrorists Killed, 15 security personnel embraced martyrdom as Forces Foil Attacks Across Balochistan
Share on FacebookShare on TwitterSend on Whatsapp

RAWALPINDI (MNN); Terrorists linked to Indian-sponsored Fitna al Hindustan attempted to disrupt peace in Balochistan on January 31, 2026, by carrying out coordinated terrorist activities at multiple locations, including Quetta, Mastung, Nushki, Dalbandin, Kharan, Panjgur, Tump, Gwadar and Pasni.

According to security sources, the attacks were carried out on the directives of foreign handlers with the objective of destabilising the province, targeting civilians and hindering ongoing development efforts. In separate incidents in Gwadar and Kharan districts, terrorists deliberately targeted innocent civilians, resulting in the martyrdom of 18 people, including women, children, elderly citizens and labourers.

Security Forces and Law Enforcement Agencies, already on high alert, responded swiftly and effectively, thwarting the terrorists’ plans through coordinated and professional action. Following prolonged, intense and daring clearance operations across various parts of Balochistan, security forces eliminated 92 terrorists, including three suicide bombers, ensuring the safety and protection of the local population.

During the clearance operations and armed confrontations, 15 security personnel fought bravely and embraced martyrdom while defending the country.

Security sources said sanitisation operations are continuing in all affected areas to eliminate any remaining terrorist elements. Authorities have vowed that the planners, facilitators, abettors and perpetrators of these attacks on civilians and law enforcement personnel will be traced and brought to justice.

Intelligence reports have confirmed that the attacks were planned, coordinated and directed by terrorist ring leaders operating from outside Pakistan, who remained in direct communication with the attackers throughout the incidents.

Earlier, on January 30, security forces killed 41 terrorists belonging to Fitna al Hindustan and Fitna al Khwarij during operations in Panjgur and Harnai districts.

With these latest successes, the total number of terrorists eliminated during ongoing counterterrorism operations in Balochistan over the past two days has reached 133.

Security officials said sanitisation and intelligence-based operations will continue to eliminate any remaining Indian-sponsored terrorist elements in the province.

They reiterated that the nationwide counterterrorism campaign under the vision of “Azm-e-Istehkam”, approved by the Federal Apex Committee under the National Action Plan, will continue at full pace to eradicate foreign-sponsored terrorism from the country.

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi on Saturday held India responsible for a spate of attacks in Balochistan, while the military’s media affairs said that 92 terrorists were killed as security forces responded to the onslaught.

Speaking to the media alongside Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti on Saturday night, he said, “These were not normal terrorists. India is behind these attacks. I can tell you for sure that India planned these attacks along with these terrorists.”

He said that authorities would go after every single one of those involved and the “masters behind them”.

“We will expose them in the world — the face with which they meet the world and the face with which they support terrorists,” he said. Naqvi said India was the “main country” behind terrorism, saying that it was not only providing financial support to the terrorists but was also aiding them in planning and strategising.

For his part, Bugti expressed gratitude to Naqvi for rushing to Quetta.

“We chaired a high-level security meeting and visited the injured at the Combined Military Hospital,” the CM said.

“In terms of the incident itself, information has yet to come but I want to say that the operation is pretty much over,” he said. Bugti also condemned the killing of women and children belonging to a Baloch family hailing from Khuzdar in Gwadar’s labour colony.

He lauded law enforcement and security personnel for their response to the attacks.

“The terrorists’ morale was declining. To raise morale, they executed this attack but the lethality was very low,” the CM said.

“The rebuttal by security forces was superb,” he said. Bugti added that the state’s resolve “could not be weakened”.

Later, Interior Minister Naqvi also arrived in Quetta to engage in high-level discussions on the law and order situation, while CM Bugti vowed that sacrifices by martyrs “would not go in vain”, according to an official statement.

It said that the minister and CM Bugti visited Police Lines to offer funeral prayers for the martyrs and meet their families.

“The people and security forces of Balochistan are brave and courageous,” Naqvi was quoted as saying. “Our soldiers took comprehensive and effective action against terrorists. The sacrifices of martyrs cannot be forgotten, and the nation salutes them.”

CM Bugti was quoted as saying, “The sacrifices of our martyrs will not go in vain. The state has always stood with the oppressed and will continue to do so.”

Earlier in the day, provincial government official Shahid Rind said police and the FC had foiled attempted terrorist attacks at a “few places across Balochistan”.

Rind, the special aide to CM for political and media affairs, noted on X that the attacks came after over 70 terrorists had been killed over the past two days by security forces at different locations across the province.

Naqvi also visited the Corps Headquarters in Quetta. He was briefed about the security situation in Balochistan and the terrorist attacks of Fitna al Hindustan.

CM Bugti was also present for the briefing. The interior minister appreciated the timely and effective action of the security forces, the report said.

He also paid tribute to the personnel and citizens who were martyred in the terrorist attacks. Naqvi said the ongoing war against terrorism would continue till the last terrorist was eliminated, the report said.

UPDATED

Security forces have killed at least 67 terrorists during ongoing intelligence-based operations after coordinated attacks at multiple locations across Balochistan were successfully foiled, state media reported on Saturday.

According to security sources, terrorists linked to Fitna-al-Hindustan attempted attacks at 12 locations across the province earlier in the day. However, timely and effective action by law enforcement agencies prevented all attacks.

State-run PTV News, citing security officials, reported that the confirmed number of terrorists killed since the morning operations reached 67, while a total of 108 terrorists have been eliminated across Balochistan over the past two days.

Security sources said 41 terrorists were killed in Panjgur and Harnai district’s Shaban area during operations conducted in the last 48 hours. During these clashes, 10 police and security personnel embraced martyrdom while confronting terrorist elements.

The state has designated Balochistan-based militant outfits as Fitna-al-Hindustan to underscore India’s alleged involvement in sponsoring terrorism and destabilisation within Pakistan.

Meanwhile, terrorists described as an Indian proxy killed 11 civilians in Gwadar, including five men, three women and three children. Security sources said all terrorists involved in the Gwadar incident were subsequently neutralised. Clearance operations in surrounding areas are continuing to eliminate remaining threats.

Following the attacks, mobile phone services remained functional, but mobile data services were suspended in Quetta, Sibi and Chaman as a precautionary measure.

Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti said in a post on X that security forces had killed around 70 terrorists across the province in just two days. He said terrorists attempted fresh attacks to boost their declining morale, but the police and Frontier Corps jointly thwarted these efforts, killing 37 more militants.

“These attacks cannot weaken our resolve. The fight against terrorism will continue until the last terrorist is eliminated,” CM Bugti said.

Information Minister Attaullah Tarar described the attacks as a desperate move by terrorists facing imminent defeat. Speaking to Geo News, he said security forces were fully alert and prepared at all locations and were not taken by surprise.

He confirmed that 10 police and security personnel were martyred and expressed deep sorrow over the killing of family members of Baloch labourers from Khuzdar and Gwadar by terrorists affiliated with the banned Baloch Liberation Army (BLA).

Tarar said aerial surveillance was ongoing and the prime minister was being kept fully informed. He reiterated the government’s resolve to eliminate terrorism from the country, adding that the unity of the nation stood firmly behind the security forces.

Defence Minister Khawaja Asif said the attacks were acts of terrorism sponsored by foreign patrons and not a struggle for rights. He said these groups oppose development, target labourers and civilians, and attempt to sabotage projects such as the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor.

He added that terrorist groups recruit youth through social media and fund their activities through organised crime, drug trafficking, extortion and smuggling. He vowed that terrorists, their facilitators and foreign handlers would be brought to justice.

CM Bugti visited the site of a bomb blast in Quetta to review the security situation and met police and security personnel. He praised the timely response of police and the Counter-Terrorism Department, stating that there would be no compromise on peace in Balochistan.

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi later arrived in Quetta, visited Police Lines, offered funeral prayers for the martyrs and met their families. He said the war against terrorism would continue until the complete elimination of terrorist elements.

An emergency was imposed in all government hospitals across Balochistan. Health Minister Bakht Muhammad Kakar directed hospitals to ensure immediate medical treatment for the injured, placing operating theatres on high alert and deploying additional doctors.

Separately, police recovered explosive materials, including an anti-tank mine and a suspected IED, from a railway track in Nasirabad district. The explosives were safely neutralised and handed over to the CTD for investigation.

President Asif Ali Zardari praised the armed forces and law enforcement agencies for foiling infiltration attempts and reaffirmed that there would be no compromise on peace, civilian protection and national unity.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also lauded the security forces for thwarting coordinated attacks in several districts, stating that the fight against terrorism would continue until its complete eradication.
