ISLAMABAD (MNN); The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leadership has decided to expand the federal political role of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s son, Hamza Shehbaz, with senior party responsibilities at the national level, according to party sources.
Sources said Hamza Shehbaz has been assigned a more active role in federal politics and will relocate to Islamabad to oversee party affairs on a permanent basis. He is expected to participate regularly in political consultations and coordination meetings from the federal capital.
According to sources, Hamza Shehbaz will also maintain a regular presence at the Prime Minister’s Office, where he will be involved in discussions on political and governmental matters alongside senior party leaders.
Sources further stated that he has been entrusted with supervising the PML-N’s political affairs at the federal level. His responsibilities will include strengthening coordination with the party’s central leadership, federal ministers, coalition partners and key government figures.
As part of his expanded role, Hamza Shehbaz is expected to begin a series of meetings in Islamabad with party leaders, coalition representatives and members of parliament to improve political coordination and parliamentary cooperation.
Sources added that he will remain in close consultation with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on political, governmental and organisational matters, while also playing an active role in shaping the party’s strategy and major political decisions.
According to party sources, Hamza Shehbaz’s increased engagement at the federal level is expected to further strengthen the PML-N’s political organisation and enhance coordination between the government and the party.
