ISLAMABAD; A meeting between PTI founder Imran Khan and his counsel, Ali Bokhari, was arranged at Adiala Jail on Wednesday, as the former Prime Minister who Bokhari said remains in solitary confinement. Despite restrictions, Imran Khan reportedly conveyed messages regarding upcoming by-elections and inquired about arrested PTI workers.
Speaking to the media outside the jail, Ali Bokhari said that Imran Khan remains determined âlike the first dayâ and has maintained his resolve despite limited access.
âThe message of PTI founder regarding by-polls has been delivered to Suleman Akram Raja,â Bokhari said.
He added that although six visitorsâ names were listed, only he was allowed to meet Imran Khan. Even the PTI leaderâs sisters were denied entry, and facilities such as newspapers and television have been suspended.
Imran Khan has also been unable to meet his wife. Bokhari quoted him saying, âThe sun of justice will riseâ and assured voters not to worry.
Aleema Khan, sister of Imran Khan, staged a sit-in with party workers near Adiala Jail, protesting the restrictions.
Speaking to media personnel at the barricade, she said, âThis tyrannical system should come to an end. Those who set buildings ablaze must be punished. We have nothing to apologize for.â She added that those who stole footage and caused destruction should apologize to Imran Khan.
Aleema Khan continued the protest until late night, holding discussions with police officials, including ASP Zainab Ayub, who assured that a meeting with Imran Khan would be arranged. Aleema stated, âIf the meeting is not arranged tomorrow, we will not leave. If they are arrested, we will go to jail.â
