KARACHI (MNN); Alleged drug kingpin Anmol alias Pinky was sent to jail on a 14-day judicial remand on Friday in multiple narcotics and murder cases.
The suspect was arrested earlier this month in Karachi in connection with two cases involving possession of narcotics and an unlicensed weapon. Prior to her arrest, several criminal cases had already been registered against her, increasing the total number of active cases to more than a dozen.
On Friday, Anmol was brought to the Judicial Complex located at Central Jail under strict security arrangements.
She was presented before judicial magistrates after the completion of her physical remands in cases registered at Baghdadi, Specialised Investigation Unit (SIU/CIA), Gizri and Darakhshan police stations.
The day also marked the completion of her physical remands in a narcotics case, a murder case and 10 other old drug-related cases.
During the proceedings, the prosecution requested further custody of the suspect. However, the court rejected the request and sent her to jail on judicial remand in all cases.
The court also directed investigation officers to submit charge sheets after completing the investigations.
Earlier, the South district and sessions judge had approved requests by Darakhshan, Gizri, Garden and Defence police to present the suspect at the Judicial Complex.
