Ducky Bhai alleges physical abuse, financial coercion during NCCIA custody

Web Desk (MNN); Pakistani YouTuber Saadur Rehman, widely known as Ducky Bhai, has released an almost hour-long video on YouTube in which he has levelled serious allegations of physical assault, verbal abuse, and financial coercion during his detention by the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA).

Rehman was taken into custody in August from Lahore Airport over accusations that he promoted online gambling and betting applications. Although the Lahore High Court granted him bail on November 25, he remained in official custody due to separate ongoing proceedings.

In September, NCCIA Lahore Additional Director Sarfraz Chaudhry was removed from his position, reportedly because of multiple controversies, including allegations of mistreating Rehman.

Detailing his ordeal in the newly uploaded video, Rehman narrated the chain of events beginning from his arrest and subsequent remand to NCCIA. He claimed that Chaudhry subjected him to repeated verbal and physical abuse.

“He got up from his chair and started verbally abusing me,” Rehman alleged. “He asked me where my earnings come from. I told him I am a YouTuber with eight million subscribers. He accused me of corrupting children. He slapped me so many times that I lost count.”

Rehman further claimed that NCCIA personnel attempted to bribe him, offering to “settle” the case for Rs70–80 million, an amount he said he did not possess.

He added that the investigating officer (IO) forced him to unlock his Binance account. “He closed all my trades at a loss, converted everything to dollars, and then instructed me to transfer it,” Rehman alleged, accusing the IO of moving approximately $326,000 to his personal account.

The YouTuber said he felt “helpless” throughout his first day in custody, claiming that he was beaten despite cooperating and even asked a known acquaintance to tell guards to “beat him less.”

Responding to Dawn’s request for comment, an NCCIA Lahore spokesperson said that corruption is committed by individuals, not institutions. “NCCIA has a zero-tolerance policy for any corrupt behaviour,” the spokesperson maintained, adding that an inquiry was already underway with FIA Anti-Corruption.

On October 28, six NCCIA officials were arrested over alleged corruption and misuse of authority. Barrister Mian Ali Ashfaq said the men—Additional Director Sarfraz Chaudhry, In-charge Zawar, Sub-Inspector Ali Raza, Assistant Director Shoaib Riaz, Yasir Gujjar and Mujtaba Kamran—were taken into FIA custody and would be produced before a district court.

According to the FIR, registered on the complaint of Rehman’s wife, Aroob Jatoi, nine individuals including eight NCCIA personnel were nominated in the case.
