NEWS DESK (MNN); Iran has confirmed that senior security official Ali Larijani and Basij force commander Gholamreza Soleimani were martyrdom in Israeli strikes, according to state media.
A statement issued by Iranâs Supreme National Security Council, reported by Mehr news agency, confirmed the martyrdom of Larijani following earlier claims by Israel that he had been targeted in a precision attack.
The council praised Larijaniâs lifelong service, stating he âattained martyrdomâ after dedicating his efforts to Iran and the Islamic Revolution.
The strike reportedly took place around 3:30am Tehran time.
Iranian media also confirmed the death of Basij commander Gholamreza Soleimani, with tributes pouring in from senior officials. Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf described him as a âdistinguished generalâ who was martyrdom along with his deputy and several soldiers in what he termed a battle against hostile forces.
In a separate statement, the Basijâs media wing said Soleimaniâs death marked the loss of a key leader who had long guided the force with strategic vision and strong ideological commitment.
