LONDON/ISLAMABAD (MNN); British-Pakistani writer and filmmaker Jemima Goldsmith has married Dublin-born businessman and financier Cameron O’Reilly in an intimate ceremony, 22 years after her high-profile marriage to former Pakistani prime minister Imran Khan ended.
According to reports, 52-year-old Jemima Goldsmith and 62-year-old Cameron O’Reilly exchanged vows on Sunday in a private ceremony attended by close family and friends.
The wedding was publicly confirmed by Jemima’s sister-in-law, Jemima Jones, who shared a photograph from the celebrations on Instagram with her husband, Ben Goldsmith, Jemima’s brother.
“Celebrating Jemima and Cameron’s wedding, with my favourite date. What a happy day!” Jones wrote in the caption.
The photograph showed Jones and Ben Goldsmith outside what appeared to be a picturesque château, offering a glimpse of the private celebrations. No official photographs of the bride and groom from the ceremony have so far been released publicly.
Relationship Kept Largely Private
Jemima and O’Reilly reportedly met through their professional work as executive producers on films and documentaries and remained friends before beginning a relationship.
Reports said the couple had been together for just over a year before marrying. They have largely kept their relationship away from the public eye, with friends describing O’Reilly as an intensely private person.
The couple reportedly divide their time between Jemima’s home in West London and O’Reilly’s residence in Switzerland.
The Goldsmith family is said to have welcomed O’Reilly, who is the son of the late Irish rugby star and media businessman Sir Anthony O’Reilly.
O’Reilly’s Business Career
After graduating from Oxford University, Cameron O’Reilly worked for about a decade alongside his father at Independent News & Media before establishing his own private equity fund in 2003.
He reportedly made around $2.3 billion from a major deal in 2011, further establishing his profile in international business and finance.
O’Reilly also has two sons from a previous marriage.
Jemima’s Film and Media Career
Jemima Goldsmith has built a prominent career in British media and the film industry, working as a writer, producer and journalist.
She has been involved in Emmy-nominated productions including The Clinton Affair, The Case Against Adnan Syed and American Crime Story: Impeachment.
In 2022, she wrote the romantic comedy What’s Love Got to Do with It?, starring Lily James and Emma Thompson, which went on to win four National Film Awards.
She has also worked with publications including New Statesman and Vanity Fair and holds a master’s degree in Middle Eastern Studies, which she completed in 2003.
A close friend of the late Princess Diana, Jemima was invited to contribute to the fifth season of The Crown. She later asked for her contributions to be removed, expressing concern that the story involving Diana might not be portrayed with the respect and compassion she had hoped for.
Marriage to Imran Khan
Jemima Goldsmith was previously married to Pakistani cricketer-turned-politician Imran Khan. The couple married in 1995 and announced their separation in 2004 after nine years of marriage.
They have two sons, Sulaiman and Kasim.
Their marriage attracted international attention, particularly after Imran Khan entered politics and later became Pakistan’s prime minister, serving from 2018 to 2022.
Jemima and her sons have continued to publicly campaign for Khan’s release following his imprisonment in Pakistan.
Goldsmith Family Marks Wedding Amid Loss
The wedding comes less than a year after the death of Jemima’s mother, Lady Annabel Goldsmith, who died in October 2025 at the age of 91.
Jemima had described her mother’s death as a devastating shock despite her advanced age, writing an emotional tribute about the lasting place her mother held in the family.
The Goldsmith family, which includes prominent figures such as Zac Goldsmith and businessman Robin Birley, is understood to have gathered to celebrate Jemima and O’Reilly’s marriage.
