LAHORE (MNN); Punjab successfully completed the largest “Suthra Punjab Eid Operation” in the province’s history under the leadership of Maryam Nawaz, with authorities describing the campaign as a major success.
According to the chief minister, a record 184,000 sanitation workers took part in the grand operation, while more than 60,000 vehicles remained active on roads across the province around the clock.
During the three days of Eidul Adha, teams covered more than six million kilometres across Punjab and safely disposed of a record 360,000 tonnes of animal waste and garbage.
The operation extended beyond roads and public spaces. More than 60,000 mosques, imambargahs and Eidgahs across the province were specially cleaned, while rose water was sprayed at over 4,000 locations as part of the cleanliness drive.
Maryam Nawaz praised the success of the operation, saying it was the result of tireless efforts and strong teamwork throughout all three days of Eid.
She also commended the performance of the provincial local government minister, Punjab police chief, commissioners, deputy commissioners, the Suthra Punjab administration, WASA, Safe City, Special Branch, and the social media team for their contributions.
The chief minister said the exemplary cleanliness and security arrangements during Eid provided real relief to the public and expressed hope that the same spirit of teamwork and public service would continue in the future.
